Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Adult Formation starting January 10-11
2015 at St. Michael in Olympia
Adult formation is a critical part of the CGS ministry. In the CGS Level I
Adult Formation course, adults immerse themselves in approaching
scripture and liturgy with the wonder of a child, and in so doing transform
their own relationships with Christ. Emphasis on using hands-on materials
to reflect on the Christian message provides adults with an essential way
of journeying with the Good Shepherd.
The CGS Level I Adult Formation Course is designed to attune participants
to the religious life of the child and to provide specific methods and
materials to foster that life. Course sessions include prayer, presentations of
materials, background information, discussion of album pages, material
making, and work in the atrium. It is the beginning point for all adults
regardless of what age group they are called to journey alongside.
Because St. Michael is a member of the consortium of parishes known as
the Sheepfold, there is no charge for this beautifully enriching adult
Upon completion, each adult will be issued a certificate from The National
Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and will have the
background necessary to work with 3-6 year olds in the Atrium.
The next session of Level I adult formation begins at St. Michael Parish on
Saturday, January 10 and Sunday, January 11. Following the January
sessions, there will be once-a-month sessions at Tacoma area parishes
through October. The final session will be Saturday and Sunday,
November 14-15, at St. Michael Parish. Preregistration is requested. If you
are interested, please complete an Adult Formation Level 1 registration form and return it to the
Parish Office. If you would like more information, or would like to schedule
time to observe in the atrium, please contact Mary Trotter at (360) 292-
7145 or email@example.com.
