Small Faith Sharing Groups Now Forming for Lent!
Groups
The process for forming groups is very plastic. You can either meet with people you already pray with, gather a new group of 6-10 together, or ask to be placed in a group that matches your parameters for meeting. ie: Monday during the day, at church, with other home school moms or Thursday, evening, at our home with 3 other couples who are raising children. (Click here See on line registration form for all the variables.)
Facilitators
Every group must have a facilitator and co-facilitator. These folks should plan to attend the facilitator training on February 11, MP room, 10:00-3:00 - lunch and childcare are provided. At the training session, all facilitators will experience the format for small faith sharing groups by participating in the process. They will also receive training on small group dynamics, pastoral agency and pastoral listening. Our trainers for the day are Kathy Steinbrecher on the Nuts and Bolts of small faith sharing groups and Bill and Kathy Collins on Pastoral Listening. Bill and Kathy are both professional counselors and teach on the formation team for permanent diaconate.
If you have a group and no one wants to be a facilitator, the parish will supply one for your group.
Materials
All the materials for the 6 week period, including the DVD scriptural reflections from Fr. Jim, will be supplied at the training. The format includes prayer, scripture reflection on the upcoming Sunday gospels of Lent, and time for personal sharing about God and daily life.
