Liturgy of the Word with Children

Liturgy of the Word with Children ☀ Summer Schedule

Thank you presiders and assistants for all you do to help our children listen to and reflect on the Word of God each Sunday!
Westside and Lifeteen Masses: Liturgy of the Word with Children will resume in September

9:30 am Mass: Limited Liturgy of the Word with Children
Our goal is to host 2 rooms, K-1 and 2-5.
Please keep your preschoolers with you during Liturgy of the Word or take advantage of our parish childcare during Mass.
We will let the presiding priest and sacristan know in advance the age groups that will gather each Sunday. Please listen to the invitation when Father calls the children forward.
I would love to share with you our great resource materials and offer you an orientation if you are interested in this ministry with the children. Please contact Anne at (360) 292-7114 or email akunkle@saintmichaelparish.org
Sharing God’s Word at Home
Our parish uses curriculum from Loyola Press for faith formation of our young children. This link might offer a great family opportunity to share Sunday’s readings. You may go to the link and click on the upcoming Sunday: loyolapress.com/sunday-connection

Guess what?! The children celebrate the Liturgy of the Word just like the entire congregation, except they get to move and interact in a way appropriate for their age level. Children in K-5th grade are invited to attend. Liturgy of the Word with Children takes place each Sunday during the 9:30 am, 10:30 am and Lifeteen/5pm Sunday Masses. It is also offered on the 3rd Sunday of the month during the 8:30 Mass at the Westside.

Here is what they do. It should look very familiar!LWC
